Hello my name is Juan Carlos and im writing just because last april 30 i suffered the same injury as Derrick Rose. I have a tear ACL and a tear Meniscus in my left knee. I felt like this was the end of my life just because im not only a basketball fan, i consider basketball my entire life. I been playing this sport since im 6 and im now 21,because of this i been able to play at a high level always and every time i step in the court i play aggresive, hustling and phisical basketball. I learn to aprreciate what hes doing and try to fallow him on every step of his recovery. this wednesday june 13 im going to start the journey by my self because im going to be in surgery trying to fix not only my left knee, but at the same way my whole life. PS. Derrick if you are able to contact me o gave me some tips it will be great. D- I’ve never felt so heartbroken over a sports team then when you went down in game 1. I know you all have worked so hard to make another playoff run and earn a chance at a title. The worst part is all the analysts questioning whether you’ll ever be the same player again. I’m a 12-year old girl. While playing my championship basketball game as point guard, I fell and felt a pop in my knee. I was on the ground for awhile and then my coach picked me up and carried me to the bench. I was put in a wheelchair and taken to my car. We went to the ER and I got crutches and a knee braces. A week or so passed after countless doctor appointments and MRI’s and it was for sure I had torn my ACL in my left like, just like you! I just got surgery about a week ago. Crazy, right?! I’m a huge fan and I find it interesting we did the same exact thing, playing the same sport! :)

Hi derrick rose. I was just checking in on my number 1 player to see how you were doing. I know how you feel because I tore my ACL/MCL the same way you did. I can’t say I feel the exact same way you did but I do know how you feel. Getting injured really sucks but it’s a part of basketball. Everything happens for a reason. I’m used to it, I prepare for it. Like I say, at the end of the day, only the strongest survived. I know your probably thinking why me? How could this happen to me? Those are all the things that I asked, but you have to stay positive because those are questions you will never find an answer to. I never let my injuries get to me because I knew that I would come back stronger than before. Surgery wasn’t that bad besides the fact I couldn’t walk for about a week in a half. Rehab is hard but you got to stay positive and focus because I had it just about every day and had like 2days off, it was frustrating at times but I stuck it out and I feel stronger than before. Its times when you want to give up but as long as you have someone pushing you you`ll be fine. I know giving up is not in your blood. BLOOD, SWEAT, HARDWORK, AND TEARS run through your veins. Keep pushing yourself to get back to do what you love. I love watching you play, because you are my idol. Hope to hear from you soon. GET WELL SOON DERRICK ROSE

I know you are very frustrated and that you cant catch a break but these are the things that will make you stronger. I am 39 years old, i have a son, i just lost my house and i am losing my job in June, but i am going to stay positive and keep it moving and that is what you should do. Have surgery,physical therapy and all the things you need to do to get better. He perhaps has more sympathy for you right now than anyone else: he was also injured in a basketball game on Saturday and will be wearing a cast up to his knee for the next 6 weeks.
